Trouble Shooting
Easy Bates says it
cannot find any Bates numbers in my document. Why?
The document was modified by another software program after Easy
Bates stamped the Bates numbers. The other software wiped out the
change history, so Easy Bates can no longer find the Bates Numbers and
undo them.
What can I do?
Make sure that stamping the Bates number onto the document is
always the last step in your document preparation process.
Easy Bates says it
cannot find the undo history for my document. Why?
The document was stamped by Easy Bates on another computer, or by
another user.
What can I do?
Go back to the computer where you stamped the document, log in as
the user who stamped the document, and run Easy Bates and undo the
Bates numbers.
Adobe Acrobat cannot OCR my PDF document after I stamp it with
Easy Bates. Why?
This is a known limitation of Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat can
only OCR PDF pages that contain a single image. Easy Bates adds a
text stamp to the page.
What can I do?
Make sure that stamping the Bates number onto the document is
always the last step in your document preparation process.
Or, if you are converting TIFF documents into PDF documents, run
Easy Bates over the TIFF documents before converting them to PDF.
My hard disk is filling up. Why?
If you stamp a lot of TIFF or JPEG documents, then Easy Bates stores the
undo history for all the TIFF and JPEG documents, which can take a lot of disk
space.
What can I do?
Let Microsoft Windows take care of it for you. When you run low on disk
space, Windows will automatically run its Disk Cleanup utility, which
will give you the option of erasing the TIFF undo history.
Or, you can erase the undo history yourself. The undo
history is stored in C:\Documents and Settings\<your
name>\Application Data\EasyBates. You can safely drag this
folder into your recycle bin.
